A lady friend of mine once told me about a discussion she had with a counselor. She was struggling with issues of self-worthlessness.  He handed her a white piece of paper and told her to put a black ink dot in the middle of it. She did.  He then asked her, "Susan, how much of the paper is white and how much of it black?"
"Most of it is white," she replied, reluctantly.
"The same thing is true about you. You are focusing so much on the black spot in your life that you can no longer see how much of you is good."
Confronting her own self-criticism was a turning point in her life.

I pray you Light and whatever revelation and healing is needed in your own.
    With love and blessings,
    Brett

We all have failings because we're human. We all try to hide our failings, even from ourselves, but we all know they're there all the same. And we love each other in spite of our own failings and other people's failings because God in His mercy made us in His image - Love. You know I love you, Elisabeth; not just in spite of your failings, but because of them, because they have shaped you into the kind, sensitive and loving woman are. You deserve to love and be loved as much as any other person on this earth and I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I refuse to walk away.

The self-awareness means that you know what you have to change, which is the first step to changing it and turn failings into success.

Beign self aware is a good thing. It means that you can see things about yourself and how you interact in the world around. God bless, keep your chin up.

wow - I really like these!  We all have failings, dear girl, but the trick is to look them in the face, name them for what they are, make amends if necessary and then move on with a vow to do better next time around.  Don't be too hard on yourself -  from where I sit you seem like a pretty good soul.
