This is my first tattoo... I hope it heals well. :)
I only just got it yesterday; I thought you guys might like to see it.

I know it might look like a Josh Groban reference, but it's not. For those of you who don't know, You are Loved(Don't Give Up) is the title of one of his songs. It also happens to be one of my favorite songs.
It's a very purposeful tattoo. I need this reminder much more often than you might think and the placement is very significant to me.
How do you like it? ^_^

You ARE loved ... and it's beautiful!!
Now seriously, how bad did it hurt?
Wow, you did it! It's very nice, but you KNOW I love you with or without a tattoo.
P.S. AIM is not working for me these days. I need to try to figure out what's gone wrong with it.
@BarelyJen - Thank you. I'm very happy with it. It's a good thing, since it's permanent.
I'd been told that the pain was comparable to taking a fine-point pen
and dragging it deeply into your skin. I'd say that's pretty accurate.
I was expecting it to hurt worse, just in case, but, aside from it
being a little sharp at times, it mostly wasn't bad at all. I think
being stuck by a needle to give plasma (and having the needle in my arm
for an hour) was worse. The vibration almost made it hurt less. But maybe that's just me.
Since it wasn't across bone or tendon, that probably made it better. My sister and her husband were wondering why I wouldn't get it on the inside of my wrist (across the tendons) and I had to tell them that the placement was significant. I don't know if they'd understand, but that's where I cut myself. Nowhere else. I wanted to cover that place with a very tangible reminder of why I shouldn't do it. Also, I wouldn't want to cut up my tattoo, y'know?
My friend doesn't know it, but something he said sort of sparked the desire to remind myself:
Iloveyou Elisabeth.
I do. So many people do. Don't forget it.And now I can't forget it.
I think it's a really beautiful tattoo.
The placement of it also appeals to me in a very significant way.
Bottom line, this is awesome.
They did a great job on it!!
classy
That is awesome! i have one that says: you don't have to live this way"
I like it!
*Is extremely jealous...
Definitely cool, although a friend of ours got the coolest tattoo I've ever seen. He has a really hair back and got some electrolysis done on a portion, then had Chewbacca tattoo'd on his back. Totally cool with the hair coming out in all the right places. Total win.
thats awesome. i love the tattoo and meaning and significance of it and its placement :)
Ohhh I love it! :D It's such a simple reminder, and a lovely one at that.
@bluemarsupial - LOL, weird, but weirdly cool at the same time.
Love it.
that's great - what's the symbolism behind the thing?
I love meaningful tattoos. It looks awesome!
Its gorgeous. And as long as you take care of it and the tattoo artist did what they were supposed to do, you should be fine :)
@theacematt2 - Thank you. I love it too. ^_^
@JadedJanissary - It serves as a tangible reminder why I don't cut myself or do any form of self-injury anymore. I had it placed directly over the scars (a couple were still healing, actually) where I used to cut myself.
I may have stated it above, but a friend of mine had written to me not long before:
"I love you Elisabeth.
I do. So many people do. Don't forget it."
And now, I cannot forget it. It was purely coincidental that the words I chose happen to be the same as the title to one of my favorite songs by Josh Groban (who is my favorite singer). It was kinda like a nice little added bonus.
@Millsanicole - Thank you. I get complimented on it much more than I ever expected to. I tend to respond with, "Thank you, I love it too. Of course, I had better. It's going to be on my skin forever, after all."
You should see it now that it's healed.
@lizheartshakespeare - It seems to be doing pretty well so far. I still put lotion on it, though it's probably not as necessary now. Tomorrow is its one month anniversary.
eh, josh groban may not be around for a long time, but the people who love you will be there your whole life. Good story.
I like that tatto; that is something we all need to be reminded of regularly!
BTW, I would like to share a couple of my posts with you. Your tattoo made me think of the one in the second link. I hope you enjoy them!
